Workmanship
Two-year
warranty.
Every Zargari build carries a written two-year warranty on workmanship. This page sets out exactly what that means, what it covers, and how to make a claim if something isn't right.
Two years from sign-off.
The warranty period starts the day the works are signed off and handed over to you. We'll provide a written handover document recording the completion date and scope of works, that document is the start of your two-year period.
This is in addition to any statutory rights you have under Australian Consumer Law and the NSW Home Building Act 1989, which provide longer statutory warranties on certain residential building works. Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes those rights.
Defects in workmanship + structural integrity.
- Joinery + fit. Joints that open, doors that drop, drawers that bind, gaps that appear in scribed work, any of that within two years is on us to fix.
- Structural members. If a pergola sags, a deck flexes beyond engineered tolerance, or a beam connection works loose, we'll investigate and remedy at our cost.
- Finishes. Premature delamination, peeling, blistering or finish failure (unrelated to cleaning chemicals or excessive sun/water exposure).
- Installation. Anything we installed that wasn't fixed correctly the first time , fasteners, brackets, sub-frames, fit-out.
Wear, abuse, and acts of god.
- Normal wear. Timber moves seasonally, minor expansion / contraction across grain is part of how solid timber behaves and is not a defect.
- Damage from third parties or modifications. If another trade or owner alters the work after our handover, that work isn't covered.
- Misuse + accidents. Impact damage, water ingress from external sources (failed flashings, roof leaks), pet damage, abrasion from heavy objects.
- Customer-supplied materials. If you supplied the timber, hardware or finishes, we warrant our workmanship, not the materials themselves.
- Acts of God. Bushfire, flood, storm damage, structural movement of the underlying building.
Call us. We come and look.
- 01Get in touch within the two-year window, phone, email, or the quote form on the home page. Photos help if you can take them.
- 02We'll arrange a site visit at no charge to inspect the issue, diagnose the cause, and confirm whether it falls under this warranty.
- 03If it's on us, we'll schedule the remedy at our cost , including any necessary materials, hardware, and labour. If it isn't covered, we'll explain why in writing and quote any remedial work separately.
- 04Remedies are scheduled within a reasonable timeframe, usually within 30 days unless the work requires specialised supply or significant scope.
Warranty stays with the property.
If you sell the property within the two-year window, the remaining warranty period transfers to the new owner. They'll need a copy of the handover document and the original invoice to make a claim. No registration required.
This is on top of, not instead of.
Nothing in this warranty excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantees, rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)), the NSW Home Building Act 1989, or any other applicable law. For residential building works in NSW, statutory warranties of two years for non-structural defects and six years for major / structural defects apply in addition to this warranty.
